We have eight committees and councils to help create and maintain guidance, oversight and compliance with ethical research practices and legal standards. We invite you to learn more about the areas listed below.
Institutional Review Board (IRB)
Responsible for making sure humans partnering in research studies at UNC Charlotte are protected throughout the research process.
Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
Responsible for ensuring the protection and care of vertebrate animals used in research studies at UNC Charlotte.
Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC)
Works to ensure the safe handling of bio-hazardous agents, and reducing the potential for personnel exposure or accidental environmental release.
Faculty Patent Committee (FPC)
Helps guide the patents process for inventions made by UNC Charlotte faculty, staff, students and University research partners.

Council
