Our researchers are tackling the most pressing issues of our time from digital health, to new energy, to education, to AI applications. The Division of Research (DR) helps position our researchers, research partners, and communities for success by assisting with and oversight of grant submissions, connecting researchers and industry partners, protecting and commercializing intellectual property, professional development, and more. Through our six units and offices, our exceptional staff work in the background to support transforming ideas into impactful outcomes that greatly benefit society.

WORLD-CLASS RESEARCH
Because of our commitment to world-class research coupled with our passion for answering critical research questions we achieved the Carnegie Research 1 (R1) status in 2025.
That means our University is being recognized for setting records in research expenditures, new research, external research funding, and innovation.
